Sometimes life feels overwhelming
and we can all use a hand.
Life stressors are more difficult to handle when our emotional energy is low.
Whether it is low due to relationship problems, academic or occupational issues, a disability, a traumatic history, symptoms of a mental illness or just too many stressors at once, therapy can help you move more smoothly and assuredly through difficult times.
During your first session(s) we will explore what brings you to therapy. I will conduct a Clinical Interview, which is composed of questions to help me gain a better understanding of you, your life, and any distressing symptoms you may be experiencing. Once we both feel I have a good understanding of what you would like to achieve in therapy, we will begin laying the foundation for your therapeutic process.
The therapy process itself is an individualized one. For example, clients may benefit from processing emotions related to their upbringing or to an impactful event. Some may benefit from building relational or coping skills. Others may benefit from additional resources, such as referrals to, and consultations with, physicians and/or psychiatrists. Taking the time to understand your needs allows us to assess what will be most beneficial to you.
Together we will form a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs.
